Full job description

The Company Versaterm is a PE-backed, high-growth SaaS company building a fully integrated platform across the entire public safety ecosystem — dispatch, law enforcement, forensics, courts, and beyond . We've grown through strategic acquisitions and deep product investment. What connects all of it is a single purpose: give public safety agencies the tools and insights to make better decisions in high-stakes moments. When a 911 call is answered, a detective investigates a case, or a forensic lab processes evidence, there's a good chance our software is working behind the scenes.

That's been true for over four decades. AI is central to where we're going. Not as a feature but as core infrastructure. We're embedding intelligence directly into the workflows our customers rely on every day, and we're doing it alongside them. Our customers tell us what the mission demands. We build what answers it. This work attracts a specific kind of person — someone who wants to be pushed by great people, build things that outlast a sprint cycle, and go home knowing the work connected back to something real.

The Role The Lead Product Manager plays a key strategic role in shaping the mission-critical systems that serve as the backbone for Police, Fire, and EMS. This position provides leadership across multiple products or major initiatives within the public safety portfolio, combining strategic foresight with hands-on execution to drive meaningful impact. This role combines deep product expertise, driving strategic outcomes while mentoring and elevating others across the product organization.

The Lead Product Manager partners closely with Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, and Partner Success to align product outcomes with organizational goals. They operate with a portfolio-level perspective—defining strategy, guiding execution, and ensuring that products deliver measurable value to both customers and the business. Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and the Records Management System (RMS) are core platforms for public safety operations—powering real-time dispatch and secure data management.

In this role, you’ll lead modernization across one of these portfolios, improving usability, ensuring compliance, and driving seamless integration within the Versaterm ecosystem. You’ll champion innovations to help agencies operate smarter, while shaping strategy and delivering measurable business impact. What You Do Product Strategy Define and communicate a multi-year strategic vision that spans multiple products or product lines, ensuring alignment with company objectives and evolving market needs.

Drive portfolio-level innovation and advise on strategic direction by modernizing solutions, expanding customer value, and balancing near-term priorities with long-term growth. Influence enterprise priorities and investment decisions, collaborating with senior stakeholders to secure alignment and resources for high-impact initiatives. Leverage market intelligence, win/loss analysis, and financial insights to shape strategy and guide decisions that maximize business impact.

Establish pricing strategies, define core product positioning and messaging, and contribute to product marketing and go-to-market launch plans. Defining the Roadmap Translate organizational strategy into actionable product roadmaps spanning multiple teams or domains. Drive roadmap cohesion across the portfolio, balancing competing priorities and resource constraints while optimizing for business impact and customer value. Use data-driven insights, market analysis, and customer feedback to guide prioritization decisions.

Partner with Engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure delivery of complex, high-impact releases that advance strategic objectives. Modernization Transformation Lead strategic initiatives to modernize the user experience, incorporating contemporary design principles and emerging technologies to enhance usability and operational efficiency. Champion adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, analytics) to enhance product capabilities and operational efficiency.

Lead experimentation and validation efforts through MVPs, pilots, and early feedback cycles. Thought Leadership Mentorship Act as a mentor and coach to other team members, promoting best practices and elevating the overall product discipline. Represent the product organization in executive forums, shaping company-wide product strategy and innovation initiatives. Stakeholders and Key Work Partners Drive alignment across departments, ensuring strategic priorities are clearly understood amongst Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Partner Success, Support, and Leadership.

Represent the product portfolio externally with customers, partners, and industry groups to validate strategic direction and strengthen relationships. Enable cross-functional readiness for major initiatives, partnering with marketing, enablement, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution. Foster collaboration and influence without authority, building consensus across diverse teams. What You Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of product management experience in enterprise SaaS or public safety software, defining strategy and driving execution across multiple product teams or domains.

Hands-on experience using AI to speed up your own work and to drive faster development and delivery outcomes, in addition to AI product knowledge. Proven ability to deliver complex, cross-functional software initiatives with measurable business impact. Leadership in modernization initiatives, including UI redesign or integration of emerging technologies. Experience with business cases, pricing strategies and P Ls. Deep expertise in product management methodologies, Agile frameworks, and product discovery techniques.

Excellent communication and influencing skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing other product professionals. Asset Qualifications Experience with tools like Aha!, JIRA, and Confluence. Familiarity with software engineering concepts such as APIs, databases, and cloud platforms. Background in public safety software (e.g., CAD, RMS, or Analytics). Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent certification.
