Product Manager II (Soccer)
TeamworksThis Product Manager role focuses on the data-heavy Player ID product within the sports technology space. You will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of translating complex player data into actionable scouting and recruitment tools.
What you’d own
- End-to-end development lifecycle for the Player ID product
- Translating raw data and models into front-end experiences
- Integrating legacy capabilities into the broader platform
- Collaborating with Data Science, Engineering, and Go-To-Market teams
Who it’s for
A fit if you…
- ✓You have 5+ years of experience in B2B SaaS product management
- ✓You possess high technical fluency regarding data models and APIs
- ✓You have a track record of using analytics to drive roadmap decisions
- ✓You have experience adapting complex products for specialized markets
Not for you if…
- ✗You prefer greenfield projects (this is an established product)
- ✗You prefer simple, non-technical consumer-facing features
- ✗You prefer a highly structured environment with clear instructions
Reading between the lines
- The mention of 'legacy capabilities' and 'not starting from scratch' suggests you will spend significant time on integration and migration work.
- The requirement to 'influence without authority' across multiple technical teams implies a need for strong stakeholder management in a matrixed organization.

Compensation: $161K • Offers Equity • Offers Bonus • Multiple Ranges
We're hiring a Product Manager to own and scale Player ID, Teamworks' soccer talent identification product. Player ID builds on technology proven with elite clubs and helps teams turn complex player data into better scouting, recruitment, and squad-building decisions. I'm Paul Gagnon, Manager, Product at Teamworks.
This is a build-and-scale role with true ownership. You'll bring an established product into the broader Teamworks platform, shape it for a wider global market, and work across Data Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and go-to-market teams to turn sophisticated data into a product clubs can use and trust.
THE ROLE
- Own the end-to-end product development lifecycle for Player ID, from product strategy and prioritization through delivery, adoption, and iteration, with soccer as your core market
- Partner with Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Product, and Product Engineering to turn complex player data and models into clear, actionable product experiences for clubs
- Bring proven legacy capabilities into the Teamworks platform, shaping the product experience, roadmap, and packaging without starting from scratch
- Work with Sales, Customer Success, and Product Success to understand the market, balance client feedback with a strong product point of view, and scale Player ID across global soccer markets
- Engage directly with club analysts, scouts, and sporting directors to understand how they work and validate the product
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
WHAT YOU MUST BRING
- 5+ years of professional product management experience owning and shipping a product used by external customers, ideally one with meaningful technical or data complexity
- The technical fluency to engage credibly across the full product lifecycle, from raw data and models through APIs, workflows, and the front-end experience
- Experience owning a product end to end in a B2B SaaS environment, from strategy and discovery through delivery and adoption
- Strong product judgment and a history of taking ownership for outcomes, especially when information is incomplete and alignment must be built across teams
- Ability to influence without authority and align data, engineering, and commercial partners around a clear product direction
- Experience using product analytics (usage data, funnels, feature adoption, retention) to find insights and turn them into roadmap decisions, and to measure whether shipped work changed customer outcomes
EVEN BETTER IF
- You've taken a technical or data-rich product from one industry or customer segment and successfully adapted it to a new, specialized market
- You have professional experience with soccer and have built products to inform how how clubs use data to make scouting, talent identification, recruitment, or squad planning decisions
- You've worked in a startup or growth-stage environment where you influenced without authority, navigated ambiguity, and moved quickly with limited structure
- You have real world experience using AI tools to improve/empower your own product work (discovery, specs, analysis, prototyping)
WHY THIS ROLE
Player ID is not a greenfield idea waiting to be validated. It builds on a product already used by elite clubs and on Teamworks' proven experience supporting player personnel decisions in other sports. You'll have the opportunity to own the product end to end, shape how complex soccer data becomes useful to clubs, and scale it into a broader global market where the competitive advantage of data is still being defined.
This role is not eligible for sponsorship at this time.
