Product Manager, Platform

TrueML

This Product Manager role focuses on the content and communications infrastructure for a fintech platform. You will manage the tools and systems that power multi-channel messaging to reach consumers.

What you’d own

  • Content management stack (headless CMS, templating, workflows)
  • Multi-channel delivery infrastructure (email, SMS, voice, mail)
  • Vendor integrations and deliverability performance
  • AI-assisted content authoring tools

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

  • ✓You have 3+ years of experience in product management with a focus on CMS or marketing tech.
  • ✓You understand the technical nuances of delivery (10DLC, IP reputation, carrier filtering).
  • ✓You can balance B2B requirements for clients with B2C needs for end-users.

Not for you if…

  • ✗You prefer pure consumer-facing product work without heavy infrastructure or vendor management.
  • ✗You want to avoid highly regulated environments (fintech/debt collection compliance).
  • ✗You prefer a role with no involvement in technical delivery metrics like bounce rates and carrier analysis.

Reading between the lines

  • The focus on 'self-serve' tools for clients suggests a high priority on building internal tooling to reduce manual engineering support.
  • The emphasis on 'compliance' and 'legal review' implies a rigorous, perhaps slower, governance process for content changes.

Full job description

Why TrueML?
TrueML is a mission-driven financial software company that aims to create better customer experiences for distressed borrowers. Consumers today want personal, digital-first experiences that align with their lifestyles, especially when it comes to managing finances. TrueML’s approach uses machine learning to engage each customer digitally and adjust strategies in real time in response to their interactions.
The TrueML team includes inspired data scientists, financial services industry experts and customer experience fanatics building technology to serve people in a way that recognizes their unique needs and preferences as human beings and endeavoring toward ensuring nobody gets locked out of the financial system.

About the Role:
TrueML is on a mission to humanize the recovery process for distressed borrowers through AI and machine learning. A lot of that mission runs on systems we have been operating for years. They are not the newest thing we have built, but they carry a large share of our client volume, our consumer outcomes, and our revenue.

As a Product Manager, you own those systems and lead the team that keeps them running and getting better. You are the person clients and internal teams come to when something needs to change, get fixed, or just be explained. You also keep the domain teams who are rebuilding this functionality on the new platform up to date on what your team is doing and why.

What You'll Do - Content Management
Ownership & Team Leadership: Own the roadmap, the backlog, the trade-offs, and the health of these products. You have dedicated engineering capacity: set the direction, keep priorities clear, protect their focus, and hold a high bar. Clients & Stakeholders: Spend time with clients, Client Success, Operations, and Compliance. Figure out what people are actually trying to do, not just what they asked for, and be the person they trust to get it in front of the right team. Communication with the Domain Teams: The domain teams are rebuilding this functionality on the new platform. Tell them what your team is building and changing, what it does, and why it exists, so they can plan for it. Keep that a regular conversation, not a handoff at the end. Escalations & Compliance: Triage fast, prioritize, and keep stakeholders in the loop. Work with Legal and Compliance so every change holds up under FDCPA, Reg F, and TCPA. Migration & Operational Readiness: Have a clear point of view on what stays, what moves to the new platform, and what we turn off. Sequence it and run the migrations so clients barely notice. Document how these systems actually work, and make sure Operations, Client Success, and Compliance have the runbooks, training, and metrics they need before anything ships.

Who You Are:
**Unfortunately at this time, we are are not able to sponsor any visas, now or in the future for this position** Experience: 3+ years in Product Management, with a track record of shipping things that moved revenue. Fintech, collections, lending, or other regulated financial services is a big plus, as is B2B2C experience balancing what the client configures against what the consumer sees. Strong with Clients & Senior Stakeholders: You are comfortable in front of clients, executives, and senior internal partners, in a room or in writing. You listen well, ask the question behind the question, and say no clearly when you need to, while leaving people feeling heard. What you hand to engineering is precise about the problem, the constraints, and what done looks like. Team Leadership: You set direction, unblock people, raise the bar, and own the result. A Fixer, Not Just a Builder: You enjoy taking something messy and making it reliable, understandable, and more valuable. You know the highest-impact product work is often the least glamorous. Technically Credible: You can read an integration spec, reason about data flows and dependencies, and hold your own with engineers on what a change will really cost. When you want to know how something is performing, you go look yourself. Comfortable with Ambiguity: The path is not always marked here and the documentation is incomplete. You take conflicting inputs and partial information and turn them into solid, actionable plans.

TrueML builds consumer-friendly debt recovery technology — the bet being that people in collections respond far better to digital, self-serve, non-hostile communication than to phone calls. It operates as a family of companies: TrueAccord, a third-party collection agency running on its machine learning models, and Retain, a SaaS product that lets lenders handle delinquent-customer outreach in-house. Ohad Samet founded it in 2013 after his own bad experience with an overdue bill, and it has raised roughly $78–130M including a $50M Series D at a $300M valuation led by Centana Growth Partners. The team is around 150–200 people, with company equity for employees, paid parental leave, generous PTO plus paid volunteer days, and a peer recognition points program.
