The Mind Company, formerly Elevate Labs, builds a family of consumer mental fitness apps: Elevate for brain training across memory, vocabulary and math, Balance for personalized meditation aimed at sleep, stress and focus, and Spark for daily learning puzzles. The apps are consumer subscriptions and have been downloaded by more than 80 million people; Elevate won Apple's App of the Year and Balance won Google's. The company is backed by Sequoia and Felicis and is around 80 people spread across North America, South America and Asia. Product work here is unusually measurement-driven, since the pitch is science-backed outcomes rather than content volume.
