Senior Product Manager, Carrier Capabilities

Shippo

This Senior Product Manager role focuses on infrastructure for a logistics platform. You will own the technical abstraction layer and integration strategy for global carrier capabilities to power internal API teams.

What you’d own

  • Carrier capability models (rating, labeling, tracking, billing)
  • Internal API abstractions and configuration models
  • Cross-functional delivery of carrier integrations and upgrades
  • Carrier health metrics and coverage gap analysis

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

  • ✓You have 4+ years of experience managing technical platforms or APIs.
  • ✓You have a strong grasp of distributed systems and integration patterns.
  • ✓You enjoy simplifying complex technical requirements for diverse stakeholders.
  • ✓You have experience scaling internal platforms used by multiple product teams.

Not for you if…

  • ✗You prefer consumer-facing features over backend infrastructure/APIs.
  • ✗You prefer clear, isolated tasks over high-ambiguity cross-team initiatives.
  • ✗You prefer a role without heavy operational components like incident response.

Reading between the lines

  • The mention of 'incident response and post-mortems' suggests you will be responsible for handling production fires related to carrier failures.
  • The requirement to 'influence without authority' across multiple teams implies a complex organizational structure where alignment is a primary challenge.
