Staff Product Manager, Technical

Robots & Pencils

This Staff Product Manager role involves leading high-stakes enterprise AI engagements for a professional services firm. You will act as a senior strategic advisor to clients while overseeing complex product delivery.

What you’d own

  • End-to-end product roadmap and strategy for major client engagements
  • Complex discovery and problem framing with senior stakeholders
  • Product delivery standards and mentorship of other PMs
  • AI-driven research synthesis and documentation using tools like Claude

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

  • ✓You have 7+ years of experience in a consultative or professional services environment
  • ✓You are comfortable navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments without direct authority
  • ✓You prefer moving on clarity over waiting for certainty in an evolving AI landscape

Not for you if…

  • ✗You prefer a stable, unchanging product roadmap over high-variability client engagements
  • ✗You prefer to work in a silo rather than acting as a primary advisor to external executives
  • ✗You are uncomfortable with 'no handoffs' and high accountability for delivery outcomes

Reading between the lines

  • The mention of 'professional services' and 'client engagements' implies you will be managing external stakeholders who may have competing priorities.
  • The requirement to 'act as a technical escalation point' suggests you will frequently handle high-pressure, ambiguous blockers that require immediate intervention.
  • The emphasis on 'moving on clarity over certainty' signals a need for rapid decision-making in an environment where perfect information is rarely available.
