Director, Product Management - Client Experience

Progyny

This Director of Product Management role oversees the enterprise products for employer onboarding, member enrollment, and client implementation. You will lead strategy for complex data workflows and internal tools supporting large-scale corporate clients.

What you’d own

  • Enrollment operations including file ingestion and identity matching
  • Client implementation tools for plan-year transitions
  • Internal tools for Client Success to track account health
  • Management of two direct reports and a dedicated engineering squad

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

  • ✓You have 10+ years of experience with complex data products or enterprise workflows
  • ✓You have 3+ years of people-management experience
  • ✓You excel at simplifying manual, fragmented processes into scalable software solutions
  • ✓You are comfortable managing sensitive data in a regulated environment

Not for you if…

  • ✗You prefer working on consumer-facing apps rather than complex backend/data systems
  • ✗You want to work without heavy stakeholder management from Operations and Success teams
  • ✗You are looking for a role with no direct reports or people leadership responsibilities

Reading between the lines

  • The emphasis on 'file ingestion,' 'record matching,' and 'data-quality issues' suggests the core of this role is heavy data engineering and backend integrity rather than UI/UX.
  • Frequent mentions of 'manual and fragmented processes' imply you will be inheriting significant technical debt or operational friction that needs to be automated.
  • The requirement to partner with an Eligibility Product Lead on 'rule governance' suggests a highly matrixed environment where your roadmap will be tightly constrained by legal and compliance logic.

Develop tools that give Client Success teams greater visibility into client configuration, enrollment performance, account health, open issues, and growth opportunities.

Establish clear ownership, data interfaces, and shared success measures across enrollment and eligibility. Manage, coach, and develop two direct reports. Partner with Engineering, Design, Data, Operations, Client Implementation, Client Success, Security, Privacy, and Compliance to deliver measurable outcomes. Lead product discovery, prioritization, delivery, adoption, and performance measurement.

Experience partnering with engineering teams on technically complex or data-intensive products. Ability to simplify manual and fragmented processes through scalable product solutions. Strong stakeholder-management, communication, and prioritization skills. Comfort working with sensitive data in a regulated environment. Commercial judgment and an understanding of how product capabilities can support client retention and expansion.

Nice to have... Experience in healthcare, benefits, insurance, HR technology, payroll, or enterprise SaaS. Familiarity with enrollment, coverage administration, employer data integrations, health plan member IDs, or MPI capabilities.
