LegitScript vets and monitors merchants, advertisers, and sellers operating in high-risk regulated industries — online pharmacies, telemedicine, addiction treatment, CBD — and certifies the legitimate ones. Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn rely on its certification to decide who may advertise in those categories, and payment facilitators, ISOs, and acquiring banks use its merchant risk products to screen and monitor portfolios. Founded in 2007 in Portland, the company pairs a large proprietary dataset on problematic merchant activity with human analysts who speak more than 15 languages.
