Product Manager, Supplier Growth

Inktavo + OrderMyGear

This Product Manager role focuses on the marketplace and search experience for a B2B software suite. You will manage how suppliers promote products and navigate the tension between monetization and user trust.

What you’d own

 • Supplier search, ranking, and promotion tools
 • End-to-end promotion experiences for buyers and sellers
 • AI/ML integration for ranking and relevance
 • Measurement models for impressions, clicks, and conversions

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

 • ✓You have experience with search, sponsored products, or retail media.
 • ✓You have shipped AI-driven features like ranking or recommendations into production.
 • ✓You are comfortable prototyping and testing with users to validate assumptions.
 • ✓You possess strong data fluency, including SQL and product analytics.

Not for you if…

 • ✗You prefer working on greenfield products rather than established platforms.
 • ✗You prefer a high-level role without technical requirements like API knowledge.
 • ✗You prefer to wait for polished specs rather than prototyping early and often.

Reading between the lines

 • The requirement to 'protect search quality while you monetize it' implies a complex balancing act between revenue goals and user experience.
 • The emphasis on 'prototyping yourself' and 'shipping in slices' suggests a lean, execution-oriented culture with less patience for long spec cycles.
 • The specific mention of 'calculating what counts as an impression' indicates a need for high autonomy in defining success metrics.
Taivo At Taivo, we’re bringing together the industry’s leading technology solutions to power the businesses behind branded merchandise. Our trusted products—including OrderMyGear, OneSource, Printavo, GraphicsFlow, and Clarity—help distributors, decorators, printers, sign shops, suppliers, and team dealers manage and grow their businesses. By connecting these solutions in one ecosystem, we’re building a better way for the industry to work, grow, and deliver exceptional experiences to their customers.
Product Management @ Taivo You will own how supplier products get found, chosen, and promoted across Taivo.

That starts with search and ranking inside OneSource and the supplier-facing promotion tools that sit on top of it. This is a product manager role inside an established product. The strategy and the first initiative are set. You will turn that initiative into a roadmap of well-framed problems, lead a cross-functional squad to ship them, and prove with data that they worked. You will report to the Director of Product for our Supplier domain and partner closely with other product managers, design, engineering, and our go-to-market teams.

The OneSource Solution OneSource is our supplier product platform. Suppliers publish their catalogs once. That data then powers product search across our tools for presentations, online stores, and quotes, along with the industry-standard APIs that other systems pull from. Today our ecosystem sees millions of product searches a month, and suppliers already pay for visibility in it. A Day in the Life Own the roadmap for supplier search and promotion.

Translate the initiative into a prioritized set of epics, each with a clear problem, a target user, and a success metric defined before anything gets built. Explain the "why" of every epic to your squad and stakeholders. Build a new promotion experience, end to end. Design how suppliers buy, target, and manage promotion; how placements appear to the clients searching for products; and how results get reported back. Prototype early, test with real users, and ship in slices that teach you something. Protect search quality while you monetize it.

Set the bar for how much promotion a surface can carry and what "relevant" means for a paid result. When short-term revenue and buyer trust pull against each other, bring a recommendation grounded in data and make the call at the squad level, escalating when needed. Prove the return. Define the measurement model for promotion (what counts as an impression, a click, an attributed order) and get it instrumented. Lead updates with the metric and its movement, not the feature you shipped.

Be relentless about getting the data a decision needs rather than settling for "I didn't have access." Run continuous discovery. Keep a standing cadence of conversations with suppliers who advertise and with the distributors and store owners whose search experience you protect. Interview for actual past behavior, not opinions about features, and turn what you learn into decisions the team can act on. Lead the squad. Own the "what" for a cross-functional team of engineers and designers; partner with them on the "how" and "when." Manage the backlog for predictability, balance roadmap work against bugs and unplanned requests, and say no to good ideas that do not serve the goal.

Ship AI where it earns its place. Apply generative AI and machine learning as appropriate to the use cases. You will shape how models and heuristics are used in the product, define how we evaluate quality, and decide where a human stays in the loop. Launch well. Partner with marketing, sales, and support on release plans, supplier-facing messaging, and feedback loops. Keep executives and stakeholders informed on progress, changes, and risks, and escalate early when something is not working.

Must-Haves A builder who has shipped. You have taken a new capability from problem to production inside an existing product, more than once. You prototype yourself (we use tools like Claude Code and v0) and test with users to validate problems and assumptions; you would rather put a rough version in front of a user this week than a polished spec next month; and you read API documentation and test endpoints. Shipped AI into production. You have delivered at least one feature where an AI model (ranking, relevance, recommendations, classification, or generation) was part of the product.

You know how to define quality for it, how to evaluate it before and after launch, determine where it fails, and iterate. Experience with search or promotion products. You have worked on how one group finds, chooses, or pays to reach another: search and relevance, sponsored products or retail media, listings and placements, recommendations, or promotions. You understand the trust tension in pay-for-placement products and have managed it. Continuous discovery as a habit.

You maintain a regular cadence with customers rather than running research as a phase. You can describe a decision that changed because of something you heard, or data analysis that you conducted. Measurement you can defend. You define the success metric before you build and instrument the work to be measurable. You can tell when a number proves something and when it only looks good. You understand basic statistics and use that when looking at data and dashboards. Technical and data fluency.

You are comfortable in the details with engineers: how data connects across systems, how an action gets attributed to a result, how APIs and integrations work. You do not need to be an engineer, but you have strong data capabilities that allow you to pull and analyze data (SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, product analytics, and BI tools). Market fluency, quickly. You build a working map of a new industry fast: how money flows, who the alternatives are, where our products sit, what customers do today when our product is not in the picture. Collaborative by default, with a backbone.

You build trust with a new team and with peers whose scope borders yours. You hold strong opinions loosely, and you can push back on engineering, design, go-to-market, or leadership with evidence rather than volume. The Right Person Will Have... 4+ years in product management, with at least 2 years on a product where you owned a roadmap and led a squad. We will consider candidates with 3 years in product management. Experience in B2B, B2C, or B2B2C software.

Catalog, e-commerce, marketplace-adjacent, or vertical SaaS backgrounds translate well. Branded merchandise experience is not expected, but would be a big plus. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a quantitative field preferred; equivalent experience welcome. Comfortable working in a remote team and in the US time zones we operate in. A Few of the Perks Competitive benefits Unlimited PTO Remote work available for U.S.-based candidates 401(k) with employer match Paid parental leave In-office benefits for those local to Dallas, TX: Catered lunches Casual office atmosphere & located in the Design District Fully stocked kitchen Candidates must be physically located and legally authorized to work in one of the following states: AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NV, NH, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and WI. OrderMyGear, now merged with Inktavo, builds the software the branded merchandise industry runs on: promotional product distributors, apparel decorators, team dealers, and suppliers use it to spin up online stores, take orders, and manage production. Customers are B2B sellers who previously ran group orders on spreadsheets and order forms. OrderMyGear was founded in 2008 in Dallas and has grown through acquisitions including BrightStores, DistributorCentral, and Aturian; the 2025 merger with Austin-based Inktavo (Printavo, InkSoft) puts shop management and e-commerce under one roof. The team leans on in-person culture — happy hours and events — with paid parental leave and commuter benefits.
