Reading between the lines
The mention of 'real time' with carriers and 'call floors' implies a high-touch, customer-facing discovery process.
Working on a product going through cloud/SaaS migration suggests you will deal with legacy complexity and technical debt.
The requirement to be 'opinionated when it matters' implies a need for strong leadership and the ability to push back on stakeholders.

Summary About the Role BillingCenter is one of the three core applications of Guidewire InsuranceSuite, processing billions of dollars in premium for many of the world's largest property and casualty insurers. As Senior Product Manager for BillingCenter, you'll join the Billing product team — partnering with the GM for Billing, the BillingCenter PM, and a Principal PM focused on AI/agentic capabilities — to deliver the next generation of billing for P&C insurers. This role is hands-on. You will own a defined area of BillingCenter end-to-end: discovery, prioritization, specification, launch, and adoption. You'll spend real time with carriers, work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering and design, and ship features that touch billions of dollars in premium movement. Job Description What You'll Do Own an area of BillingCenter. Take end-to-end product ownership of a defined slice of the product (scope shaped with the GM and PM team) — from customer discovery through launch and adoption. Run the discovery–delivery loop. Talk to carriers, document problems, write specs, partner with engineering and design through delivery, and measure outcomes after launch. Contribute to the roadmap. Bring evidence and clear point of view to the Billing roadmap process; help the team make better prioritization calls. Engage directly with carriers. Build trusted relationships with billing operations, finance, and IT leaders at our carrier customers; turn what you learn into product investments. Partner with engineering. Work daily with engineers and architects on scoping, sequencing, and trade-offs; develop the technical fluency to be a credible partner on data model, integrations, and cloud delivery decisions. Coordinate across the suite. Work with PMs across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, the Guidewire Cloud Platform, and payments/integrations to ensure your area fits the broader carrier experience. Measure what matters. Define success metrics for your area — adoption, cycle time, straight-through processing, customer satisfaction — and use them to drive your next set of bets. What You'll Bring Required 5–8 years of product management experience, including time on enterprise B2B SaaS products serving large customers. Direct experience with P&C insurance — ideally billing, payments, premium accounting, agency bill / direct bill, commissions, or disbursements. Direct experience in billing, payments, or fintech — invoicing platforms, payment processing, collections, reconciliation, or treasury systems. Track record of shipping meaningful features end-to-end — from problem discovery through adoption — not just managing a backlog. Solid technical fluency: can learn and become an expert in the complex billing application, can read API contracts, reason about data models, and have substantive design conversations with senior engineers. Strong written and verbal communication; can translate fluidly between customer language, product spec, and engineering detail. Comfort working on a team alongside more senior PMs and a GM — collaborative by default, opinionated when it matters. Strongly Preferred Familiarity with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, Duck Creek, Majesco, or comparable core insurance platforms. Exposure to AI/ML or agentic features in a production product — even as a contributor rather than the lead. Nice to Have Experience on a product going through cloud/SaaS migration with a large installed base of on-prem customers. Background working with carrier finance, treasury, or accounting stakeholders. Prior experience as an engineer, solutions architect, business analyst, or implementation consultant on core insurance systems. How You Work You're customer-obsessed — you'd rather spend a day on a carrier's call floor than reviewing a slide. You operate well in a team — collaborative with peers, takes feedback seriously, gives credit generously. You're rigorous: clear written specs, documented decisions, measurable outcomes. You're pragmatic about AI — interested in shipping useful agentic capabilities, skeptical of demos. You move with urgency without losing quality — bias toward shipping, learning, and iterating.

Guidewire builds the core software platform that property and casualty (P&C) insurers run their business on, handling policy administration, billing, and claims management, increasingly delivered as a cloud platform. Its customers are insurance carriers worldwide, from large multinationals to regional and specialty insurers, and the platform sits at the center of how those companies underwrite policies and pay claims. Founded in 2001 and publicly traded on the NYSE (GWRE), it is a large, established enterprise-software company mid-transition from on-prem to cloud. For a PM, this is deep, regulated insurance-domain work at enterprise scale, where customers are slow-moving carriers with mission-critical systems and long implementation cycles.
