Senior Product Manager – Commerce Growth

HighLevel

This Senior Product Manager role focuses on driving payments adoption within a fintech platform. You will manage the entire commerce growth lifecycle, balancing product strategy with commercial unit economics and partner incentive design.

What you’d own

  • The end-to-end payments adoption charter and roadmap
  • Partner incentive programs including eligibility and payout mechanics
  • Partner-facing surfaces for discovery and action
  • Unit economics, including CAC, payback period, and budget management

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

  • You have 8-10 years of experience in growth, partner, or incentive programs.
  • You are comfortable being measured on commercial outcomes rather than feature lists.
  • You have experience with payment economics, fintech, or marketplace models.
  • You can design and manage automated controls to prevent program abuse.

Not for you if…

  • You prefer a pure product role without heavy involvement in finance/budgeting.
  • You prefer building features for direct users rather than complex partner ecosystems.
  • You prefer high-certainty environments over data-driven experimentation and A/B testing.

Reading between the lines

  • The mention of 'general-management' and 'defensible to Finance' suggests a heavy emphasis on P&L responsibility.
  • The requirement for 'automated controls' rather than manual review implies a need to build for massive scale with minimal overhead.
  • The focus on 'bespoke arrangements' for large partners suggests you will handle high-touch, complex negotiations alongside automated systems.

Learn more about us on our YouTube Channel or Blog Posts Role Overview HighLevel processes payments at significant scale for the businesses that run on our platform and yet only a fraction of the businesses we serve have adopted payments at all. The constraint is structural rather than one of awareness: adoption is decided by the agencies who serve these businesses, and they have never had a commercial reason to act. We are hiring a Senior Product Manager - Commerce Growth to close that gap and make payments adoption the fastest-compounding line in our Commerce business. This role owns the adoption and monetisation charter for Commerce end to end. It spans partner incentive design, the growth mechanics that move a business from signing up to transacting consistently, the partner-facing surfaces those programmes live in, and the commercial model underneath them. It is a general-management role as much as a product one, you will own the unit economics, the programme budget, and the evidence that the investment is working. This role is ideal for product managers who have built growth or partner programmes at scale, who are comfortable being measured on a commercial outcome rather than a feature list, and who bring the analytical rigour to distinguish growth that was genuinely caused from growth that would have happened anyway. What You'll Do Own the payments adoption charter end to end - the strategy, roadmap and operating plan that take adoption and transacting volume to a multiple of today's levels, and the commercial targets attached to them. Design, launch and iterate partner incentive programmes that make adoption commercially compelling for the agencies who drive it including eligibility models, qualification logic, payout mechanics and the controls that keep the programmes durable and abuse-resistant. Own the partner-facing product surfaces where these programmes are discovered, understood and acted on progress, earnings and next-best-action, designed to scale to tens of thousands of partners without manual support. Own the unit economics: customer acquisition cost, payback period, contribution margin and programme budget - modelled, forecast, and defensible to Finance and leadership. Build a disciplined experimentation practice - randomised tests, holdout groups and incrementality measurement so that pricing and programme decisions are evidence-led rather than intuition-led. Apply growth-hacking rigour across the adoption funnel: segmentation, lifecycle triggers, in-product prompts and targeted campaigns, in partnership with Lifecycle Marketing, Community and Support. Lead commercial conversations with our largest agency partners, where bespoke arrangements rather than self-serve programmes are what move the number. Own the monthly performance narrative - adoption, retention, cost efficiency and programme health and the decision to scale, hold or retire each initiative. Partner with Analytics, Finance, Risk and Commerce platform engineering on the measurement, controls and infrastructure the charter depends on. What Success Looks Like Payments adoption grows at a multiple of its current rate, with the uplift demonstrably attributable to the work rather than to underlying trend Incentive investment pays back inside its target window, measured on contribution rather than headline revenue Partners understand what they have earned and why, without needing to contact support Programme abuse remains negligible and is contained by automated controls rather than manual review Programme spend tracks forecast, with variance understood and explained Minimum Qualifications 8–10 years of product management experience Experience owning a growth, partner, referral or incentive programme where the commercial mechanic itself was the product Comfort owning a commercial outcome end to end acquisition cost, payback, contribution margin and defending it to a finance audience A track record of running controlled experiments and drawing the right conclusion from them, including the unwelcome one Experience with payments, fintech, marketplaces or another business where unit economics are the product strategy Preferred Qualifications Experience in partner, reseller or franchise ecosystems where a third party not the end user makes the adoption decision Familiarity with payment economics: processing rates, take rate, volume tiers, and how payment method mix affects platform monetisation Experience designing abuse and fraud controls for a rewards, referral or affiliate programme Background in vertical SaaS or platform businesses that monetise payments alongside subscriptions Who This Role Is For Product managers who think in unit economics, and who will hold the line when an initiative is popular but does not pay for itself. PMs who treat commercial programmes as product surfaces with an interface, a rulebook and a feedback loop rather than a spreadsheet handed to marketing. People energised by a very specific problem: getting tens of thousands of independent businesses to act on your behalf, repeatedly, at a price that makes sense. Why Should You Join Us?
