Senior Technical Product Manager
EngineThis Senior Product Manager role focuses on a core travel platform infrastructure. You will manage technical systems used by internal teams, partner engineers, and AI agents within an AI-native ecosystem.
What you’d own
- End-to-end strategy and roadmap for your assigned platform area
- Technical requirements, API architecture, and system tradeoffs
- Metrics for adoption and reliability to guide development
- Prioritization between foundational investments and immediate revenue outcomes
Who it’s for
A fit if you…
- ✓You have 5+ years of product management experience
- ✓You possess deep technical depth in complex systems and architecture
- ✓You have shipped LLM-based tools or ML-adjacent products
- ✓You are comfortable translating technical needs for non-technical audiences
Not for you if…
- ✗You prefer consumer-facing features over backend platform infrastructure
- ✗You prefer a role with low technical complexity or ambiguity
- ✗You lack experience in high-scale systems like travel, marketplaces, or fintech
Reading between the lines
- The mention of 'partner engineering teams' as customers suggests you will spend significant time on internal stakeholder management and API contract stability.
- The requirement to balance 'foundational investments' with 'revenue outcomes' implies a high-pressure environment where technical debt vs. feature speed is a constant negotiation.

About Engine Engine is the AI-native platform for intelligent travel. For a decade, Engine has built the proprietary technology and supply behind modern business travel, serving over 40,000 customers and nearly 2 million travelers, along with leading travel and AI companies that build on Engine's infrastructure. One system powers business travel, group travel, human agents, and AI agents. That work has earned recognition as one of Fast Company's Best Workplaces for Innovators (2025), TravelTech's Reservation Platform of the Year (2026), and one of Built In's Best Places to Work (2020–2026).
We're looking for bold, ambitious people to help redefine how businesses manage and experience travel. Working here, you can expect exponential growth, an ambitious pace, full ownership, and high-caliber colleagues who push you to do the best work of your career. Every hire raises the bar. Come outpace the ordinary and build the future of travel with us. Your Mission As a Technical Product Manager at Engine, you'll own key parts of a platform at the core of how we operate.
We're hiring across several teams, and you'll join one of them to help lead its area. Your customers include partner engineering teams, internal product teams, and the members who depend on what you build working every time. Here's what you'll take charge of: Own your platform end to end: Shape the strategy and roadmap for your area, and take it from requirements through launch and adoption. Define and measure success: Turn customer and partner needs into clear technical requirements, set the metrics that matter for your platform, from adoption to reliability, and use them to guide what you build next.
Lead with technical depth: Get into the details of architecture, APIs, and system tradeoffs, and find where AI can make your platform smarter or more reliable. Balance long-term bets with near-term wins: Make hard prioritization calls between foundational platform investments and the customer and revenue outcomes the business needs now. Partner across the business: Work with data, product, and business teams, and explain what your platform does and why it matters to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What You'll Bring to Engine We're looking for someone who's ready to make an impact and grow alongside us: Experience: 5+ years in product management. Background in travel, marketplaces, or fintech is a strong plus. We're hiring across levels and will match scope to your background. Technical Depth: You understand how complex systems work and can go deep with engineers on architecture and tradeoffs. Skills: You're a systems thinker with a sharp analytical toolkit (SQL, KPI definition, experimentation), and you can turn ambiguity into a crisp plan.
AI Experience: You've shipped LLM-based tools or ML-adjacent products in production. Mindset: You have conviction, you can tell an engineer or a partner "no" and explain why, and you keep the end customer in view even when you're deep in the technical work. We accept applications for this role on an ongoing basis. We review applications as they are received and encourage interested candidates to apply early. About Engine
See all roles →Engine is a travel management platform built for small and mid-market businesses, simplifying how companies book and manage flights, hotels, and car rentals for employees. It combines a self-serve booking interface with policy controls, centralized billing, and reporting — replacing the fragmented experience of employees booking on personal cards and submitting expense reports. The company targets businesses that have outgrown consumer travel sites but don't need the complexity of enterprise solutions like Concur. Engine is venture-backed and competes in the SMB travel management space with a product designed for speed and simplicity.
