Product Manager

Defense Unicorns

This Product Manager role focuses on infrastructure and DevSecOps tools within the defense technology sector. You will manage internal tooling, pipelines, and open-source packages to support secure software delivery.

What you’d own

  • UDS application packaging and pipeline maintenance
  • Core software deliverable packages
  • Open source community engagement
  • Product roadmap for both paid and OSS segments

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

  • ✓You have experience with DevSecOps pipelines, Kubernetes, and Helm charts.
  • ✓You are comfortable managing products that serve both internal teams and external customers.
  • ✓You can navigate the complexities of open-source software monetization and community management.

Not for you if…

  • ✗You prefer purely consumer-facing products without technical infrastructure components.
  • ✗You prefer a role with a single, simple customer segment rather than mixed paid/OSS models.
  • ✗You prefer to avoid the complexities of regulated IT or security-focused environments.

Reading between the lines

  • The mention of 'limited resources' and 'evolving needs' suggests you will need to make high-impact trade-offs with a lean team.
  • Requirement for 'technical conversations' regarding 'engineering effort' implies a heavy collaboration with engineering on technical debt vs. features.
