AI-Powered Product Builder

Coverbase

This is a technical product role for an AI-powered enterprise platform. You will act as a hybrid product manager and engineer to build and ship features rapidly.

What you’d own

  • End-to-end feature design and user flows
  • Full-stack implementation (Python, React, AWS)
  • Product roadmap based on user problem extrapolation
  • Engineering culture and trajectory

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

  • You have a strong software engineering foundation and can ship large PRs quickly
  • You prefer shipping fast and iterating later over perfect initial planning
  • You are comfortable using AI-tooling to accelerate development

Not for you if…

  • You prefer a traditional PM role without hands-on coding requirements
  • You require a dedicated design team to handle UI and UX
  • You prefer a slow, methodical planning cycle over rapid iteration

Reading between the lines

  • The requirement to 'churn out 10K LoC PRs in a day' implies an extremely high output bar for engineering velocity.
  • The phrase 'founding-level impact' suggests you will have significant autonomy but also high accountability for the product's success.

Location Type: Remote Location: Remote; Remote Employment Type: FullTime Department: Engineering Compensation: $240K – $280K • Offers Equity ABOUT COVERBASE The foundation of the modern global economy is built on a dense network of counterparty trust and risk. In the past 50 years, companies have evolved from relying on a couple of wholesalers and vendors, to utilizing 100+ SaaS vendors, contract partners, and cloud providers. Since each counterparty has their own idiosyncratic internal processes and risk profiles, businesses end up spending millions of dollars and countless man-hours conducting due diligence. Coverbase’s mission is to streamline this business-to-business assessment, reducing human toil, and allowing organizations to work together safely and reliably. We employ modern AI techniques to organize vast amounts of unstructured data and compare them against policies to identify key risks to the business. We serve customers across Fortune 500 companies in insurance, higher education, and finance — including five of the top 25 banks in the US. Our proven leadership team brings deep experience: - Clarence (CEO): Co-founder & former CTO of Unit21, a Series C fraud detection company that has raised ~$92M. - Kao (CTO): Previously led the Stripe engineering team that launched Banking-as-a-Service. We’ve raised $20M from world-class investors and our team of 20 have built important products at Google, Mapbox and Waymo. RESPONSIBILITIES - Talk to our users, investigate their problems, extrapolate to the next generation of products that that are just beyond the horizon. - Deeply understand the Coverbase platform, design features and user flows that delight users and play well with the existing product. - Collaborate with the team to ideate and review plans. - Utilize AI-tooling effectively to design UI, and implement the features across the stack (AWS infra, Python backend, React frontend). REQUIREMENTS - Strong foundations in software engineering: You can use Cursor to churn out 10K LoC PRs in a day, and have the discernment to review the code and toss out the slop. - Excited about shipping fast and iterating later: You're a little impatient to see your work have an impact in days, not weeks or months. - You have strong opinions that are weakly held: You're able to debate different points of view without getting too attached, and then soberly pick the best one. WHY JOIN US? - Strong product addressing a latent market demand: Our AI-driven platform is transforming third-party risk management (TPRM) for top-tier financial institutions. Customers describe it as “revolutionary” and “a joy to work with,” and we’re just getting started. Here is what customers are saying -- unprompted feedback: “This is a revolutionary product… Coverbase is the single biggest step forward in TPRM I’ve seen in my career.” “You’re flipping the entire program upside down, we completed the risk assessment in 1.5 days… would otherwise have taken at least 3 weeks.” “Love how responsive you are, it’s been a joy to work with you guys.” - Founding-level Impact: As an early team member, you’ll shape not just the product but also our engineering culture and trajectory. Your contributions will directly influence our success and define how we grow. - Collaborative Team: Join a lean, tight-knit group that works hard and achieves a lot. You’ll work closely with the founders and an exceptional team of engineers. WHAT WE OFFER - $240K to $280K base depending on experience and ability - Meaningful equity in the company - Health insurance - 21 days of PTO - In-person gatherings within the U.S. (travel covered) every 3-5 months. We’ll give plenty of notice for it, and cover flights and accommodation. About Coverbase

Coverbase is an agentic AI platform for third-party risk, security, and procurement. Instead of having analysts chase vendors through questionnaires and email, it pulls evidence directly from vendors and validates it against a customer's own controls, spanning six stages of the vendor lifecycle: intake, zero-touch assessments, a risk assessment copilot, continuous monitoring, inspection, and contract management. It targets risk-aware industries like finance, insurance, fintech, and healthcare, with customers including Nationwide, Coinbase, Okta, and Navy Federal. Founded in 2023 in San Francisco by a team from Google, Stripe, Waymo, and Unit21, it's an early-stage, AI-first startup where a PM would help shape agentic workflows that compound as the system learns a team's risk logic.
