Senior Director, Product
AvoThis Director of Product role leads product strategy and execution for a healthcare AI platform. You will oversee the roadmap for clinical decision support and enterprise infrastructure.
What you’d own
- Product roadmap across suite of products and platform infrastructure
- Translation of complex clinical workflows into actionable engineering requirements
- UI/UX design leadership for intuitive, scalable clinical experiences
- Cross-functional alignment across distributed Product and Engineering teams
Who it’s for
A fit if you…
- ✓You have 7+ years of experience, including senior leadership in enterprise SaaS or regulated industries.
- ✓You have hands-on experience building AI-powered products and understand LLM limitations.
- ✓You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and moving quickly in a startup environment.
- ✓You can manage stakeholders across US and Asia-Pacific time zones.
Not for you if…
- ✗You prefer high-process environments over 'unblocking engineering' through direct action.
- ✗You are unable to work irregular hours to accommodate US/Asia-Pacific time zone overlaps.
- ✗You are looking for a role without any international travel requirements.
Reading between the lines
- The requirement to 'unblock engineering rather than adding process' suggests a lean, high-autonomy environment where execution speed is prioritized over formal methodology.
- The mention of 'scrappy' and 'high agency' implies you will be expected to operate with minimal oversight and make high-stakes decisions independently.
- Frequent mentions of 'translating' complex clinical needs suggest the role requires heavy mediation between non-technical clinicians and technical engineering teams.

About Avo
See all roles →Avo (AvoMD) builds AI-powered clinical copilots that sit inside a hospital's existing EHR, combining patient data with trusted medical knowledge bases to help doctors chart, document, and make care decisions faster. Its products include an AI scribe for ambient documentation, chart assistants for admission and discharge workflows, and an EHR-integrated AI consult chatbot, with a pitch around reducing clinician burnout and improving revenue-cycle documentation. It sells to health systems and hospitals and counts VCU Health, Loma Linda, and Marathon Health among customers. Founded by an internal-medicine physician and clinical informatician, it is a small, clinician-led startup, which means a PM here works closely with practicing doctors on high-stakes healthcare workflows.
