Product Manager

Aderant

This Product Manager role involves owning product strategy and execution for a specific area of an enterprise legal software portfolio. You will lead the lifecycle from discovery to shipping for professional services clients.

What you’d own

  • Product strategy and roadmap for a defined product area
  • AI-driven product management using AI tools for discovery and delivery
  • Translation of client feedback and usage data into actionable requirements
  • Cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Design, Sales, and Support

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

  • ✓You have 3+ years of experience in enterprise SaaS environments
  • ✓You have deep domain expertise in law firm operations (billing, timekeeping, etc.)
  • ✓You are comfortable working with platforms, APIs, and complex workflow-heavy applications
  • ✓You have a track record of grounding decisions in direct client feedback

Not for you if…

  • ✗You prefer a generalist role without ownership over a specific product area
  • ✗You are looking for a non-technical domain, as this requires complex legal workflow knowledge
  • ✗You prefer to work in a silo rather than in a matrixed, cross-functional environment

Reading between the lines

  • The emphasis on 'AI-driven product management' suggests you will be expected to integrate LLMs or machine learning into the actual product features, not just use AI for internal productivity.
  • The requirement for 'high ownership and bias toward action' in a matrixed team implies you will need to navigate significant organizational complexity to get things shipped.

Aderant builds the back-office software that law firms run their business on: time tracking, billing, e-billing, docketing, and client-guideline compliance, anchored by its Expert practice-management platform. Its customers are large firms, including most of the Am Law 200 and dozens of the Global 100, and it has recently layered AI (its MADDI engine and a partnership with Harvey) across the work-to-cash cycle. Founded decades ago and headquartered in Atlanta, Aderant has been owned by Roper Technologies since 2015 and operates globally across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. For a PM, it's an established category leader modernizing a traditionally slow-moving legal-tech space.
