Senior Staff Product Manager - Transformation
TekionThis Staff Product Manager role focuses on enterprise automotive retail systems. You will lead the transformation of legacy workflows into a modern cloud-native platform, specifically managing complex integrations between retail operations and back-office accounting.
What you’d own
- Retail-accounting integration and workflow alignment
- Stock management systems for large dealer groups
- Transformation frameworks and operational blueprints
- UK and Canadian market-specific product requirements
Who it’s for
A fit if you…
- ✓You have deep expertise in retail operations or automotive industry workflows
- ✓You can translate complex back-office financial processes into scalable software
- ✓You are comfortable leading high-stakes transformations with enterprise stakeholders
- ✓You possess a strong understanding of international regulatory and tax nuances
Not for you if…
- ✗You prefer building features based on specific customer request lists over driving platform-led transformation
- ✗You prefer working in a purely technical role without heavy stakeholder engagement or 'pre-sales' involvement
- ✗You prefer a standard product lifecycle without the need to manage complex, multi-market regulatory requirements
Reading between the lines
- The requirement to lead with 'platform capability... rather than collecting lists of legacy-system requirements' suggests you will have to push back on customers who want 1:1 feature parity with their old systems.
- The focus on 'pre-sales, onboarding, and post-go-live' indicates a high level of involvement in the customer success lifecycle beyond just the initial build.

ABOUT TEKION:
Positively disrupting an industry that has not seen any innovation in over 50 years, Tekion has challenged the paradigm with the first and fastest cloud-native automotive platform that includes the revolutionary Automotive Retail Cloud (ARC) for retailers, Automotive Enterprise Cloud (AEC) for manufacturers and other large automotive enterprises and Automotive Partner Cloud (APC) for technology and industry partners. Tekion connects the entire spectrum of the automotive retail ecosystem through one seamless platform.
The transformative platform uses cutting-edge technology, big data, machine learning, and AI to seamlessly bring together OEMs, retailers/dealers and consumers. With its highly configurable integration and greater customer engagement capabilities, Tekion is enabling the best automotive retail experiences ever. Tekion employs close to 3,000 people across North America, Asia and Europe.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Retail Operations & Product Input
- Act as the primary voice of dealer operations within product discussions, bringing deep, credible retail experience to every conversation about platform design and prioritisation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on complex operational domains including sales administration, vehicle stock management, retail accounting integration, and the handoff points between front-of-house and back-office processes.
- Partner with Tekion's product leadership to provide structured input into the ARC platform roadmap, ensuring international market nuances — particularly UK and Canadian regulatory, tax, and workflow differences — are reflected in product direction.
- Review and challenge product decisions where proposed approaches would create operational friction or fail to reflect how enterprise dealer groups actually work.
Retail-Accounting Integration & Enterprise Alignment
- ·Lead the thinking on how retail operations and accounting should connect within the ARC platform, reducing the friction that enterprise groups typically experience at the boundary of front-end sales and back-office financial processes.
- Define and document how stock management — from vehicle ordering and part-exchange to stocking plans and aged inventory — should be handled within a modern, integrated platform at scale.
- Identify integration gaps and misalignments between retail and accounting workflows, and work collaboratively across product, engineering, and implementation teams to address them systematically.
- Build the standards and reference models that allow large enterprise dealer groups to adopt the platform confidently, with a clear view of how complex operational scenarios are handled.
Transformation Delivery & Customer Engagement
- Drive a transformation-first engagement model with prospective and existing enterprise customers — leading with platform capability and operational best practice rather than collecting lists of legacy-system requirements.
- Develop transformation frameworks, operational blueprints, and change readiness tools that help enterprise dealer groups understand what operating on ARC looks like at steady state.
- Engage directly with senior operational and finance stakeholders at dealer groups during pre-sales, onboarding, and post-go-live phases, building the credibility and trust that complex transformations demand.
- Feed real-world implementation and adoption insights back into the product cycle, closing the loop between what customers experience and what the platform delivers.
International Market Coverage
- Own the retail and operational perspective for UK and Canadian markets, building a detailed understanding of how market-specific dynamics — franchise agreements, VAT/GST treatment, stocking structures, OEM relationships — affect platform requirements.
- Develop a scalable model for international retail operations insight that can extend to additional markets as Tekion's international footprint grows.
- Represent Tekion externally at industry events, dealer group forums, and OEM discussions where operational expertise and transformation credibility are required.
PERKS & BENEFITS
- Competitive compensation and generous stock options
- 100% employer-paid top-of-the-line medical, dental and vision coverage
- Be part of an early stage, hyper-growth start-up with the opportunity to grow and prosper
- Work on the latest and coolest technologies – everything is home-grown and built ground-up
- A dynamic work environment with a strong sense of community and collaboration
- The open and transparent culture that encourages innovation, rewards performance and discourages hierarchy
- Exciting opportunities for career growth and development

About Tekion
See all roles →Tekion builds an AI-native operating system for car dealerships, unifying the pieces of automotive retail that usually live in separate legacy systems: dealer management (DMS), CRM, digital retail, and service. Its flagship Automotive Retail Cloud connects dealers, OEMs, and consumers on one platform, and a role-aware AI layer called T1 surfaces answers and automates workflows on top of unified dealership data. Founded in 2016 by former Tesla CIO Jay Vijayan, Tekion now powers 3,000+ dealerships and reached a $3.5B valuation on its Series D. The company leans toward in-person collaboration with some fully remote roles in the US, Canada, and EMEA, and offers stock options, parental leave, and team off-sites. For a PM, it is vertical SaaS taking on entrenched incumbents in a large industry.
