What you’d own

  • Product vision and strategy across book, podcast, and music formats
  • User experience journey from discovery to retention
  • Multimodal and cross-format product capabilities
  • Mentorship of product managers and team craft standards

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

  • ✓10+ years of experience in large technology companies
  • ✓Deep knowledge of the consumer media landscape (books, podcasts, music)
  • ✓Experience building complex mobile interfaces for iOS and Android
  • ✓Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate ambiguity

Not for you if…

  • ✗You prefer working on niche features rather than broad platform systems
  • ✗You prefer a small startup environment over large-scale organizational complexity
  • ✗You are not comfortable using AI tools in your daily workflow

Reading between the lines

  • The mention of 'cross-format' and 'scaling from one format to others' suggests you will be building platform-level infrastructure, not just standalone features.
  • Requirement to align stakeholders across 'Core Experience', 'Business', and 'Personalization' implies a high degree of organizational navigation is required.

Define and evolve the user experience across the content journey—from discovery and evaluation through engagement, library management, and retention. Drive innovation across multimodal and cross-format experiences, such as the intersection of listening and reading, and build capabilities that can scale from one format to others. Work closely with engineering, design, data, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality experiences. Use data, experimentation, and user insights to inform decisions and continuously improve the experience. Align senior stakeholders across Core Experience, the business teams, and Personalization to create a cohesive consumer experience. Lead multiple cross-functional initiatives end to end, owning scope and alignment and partnering with engineering on delivery. Mentor product managers and raise the bar for product craft across the team.

You have experience building for mobile platforms such as iOS and Android, including complex user interfaces. You understand how to build scalable systems and experiences that enable teams to move faster. You’re able to balance user experience, technical constraints, and business impact. You care deeply about creating intuitive, high-quality consumer experiences. You’ve worked closely with engineering, design, and data partners to bring products to life. You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and bringing clarity across teams and organizations. You’ve influenced senior leaders and stakeholders across functions and levels to drive alignment and outcomes. You actively use AI tools in your product development workflow, from research and analysis to iteration and prototyping.
