Skylight is a digital consultancy that helps US government agencies deliver better public services using human-centered design and lean-agile engineering. Its teams work on projects like improving early childhood outcomes and supporting veteran care, modernizing the outmoded policies, practices, and technology behind public services. Many of its people came from civic-tech groups such as 18F, the U.S. Digital Service, and the Presidential Innovation Fellows, so the work blends government and commercial expertise. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, Skylight is a distributed, remote-friendly team of roughly 165 people spread across 34 states, with a culture built on autonomy, learning, and flexibility in when, where, and how work gets done.
