The pitch to employers is that employees who treat healthcare dollars like their own drive overall costs down. Founded in 2018, the company is headquartered in El Segundo, California, with a remote-friendly team of roughly 250 employees, and reached unicorn status in 2021. In June 2024 it raised a $165M Series D led by Koch Disruptive Technologies (with Cathay Innovation, BOND, Drive Capital, Menlo Ventures and others) — Koch is also rolling Sidecar coverage out to part of its own workforce.
