Runlayer is a control plane that lets enterprises roll out AI agents safely across engineering, security, IT, and business teams. It offers a governed MCP gateway with a catalog of 18,000+ MCPs, lets domain teams package internal APIs and workflows as reusable agent capabilities, and adds identity controls, runtime security scanning, shadow-AI discovery, and spend monitoring so companies can adopt tools like Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT without a lengthy review for every agent. Customers include Gusto, Lemonade, Opendoor, and dbt Labs. The founding team came out of Zapier (they built Zapier MCP and Agents) and has raised over $200M cumulatively across prior startups. The company is small, AI-native by default, and runs a direct, ship-fast culture.
