Recidiviz is a non-profit that builds data and AI tools for state corrections agencies — case planning, facilities, supervision, and sentencing assistants — that help parole officers, case managers, and corrections leaders reduce incarceration and improve reentry outcomes. The team stitches together fragmented criminal justice databases into a standardized data layer that powers their products, now used by 19 state departments of corrections covering nearly half of US prison and supervision populations. Started as a volunteer project at Google and spun out as a non-profit in 2019, it has helped over 250,000 people return home and contributed to more than $1.5B in state savings.
