Kiva

Kiva is a nonprofit crowdlending platform where individuals lend small amounts, often as little as $25, to entrepreneurs and borrowers in underserved communities around the world, with the loans typically carrying 0% interest for US borrowers. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in San Francisco, it has facilitated well over a billion dollars in loans to millions of borrowers across dozens of countries, working with field partners on the ground. For a PM, it is a two-sided marketplace with a social mission rather than a revenue target at its core.
