Geisinger is a large nonprofit health system serving about 1.2 million people across central and northeastern Pennsylvania, running hospitals, clinics, urgent care, and a pharmacy network alongside its own Geisinger Health Plan insurance arm. Patients manage care through the MyGeisinger portal, where they schedule appointments, message their care teams, and pay bills online. As an integrated payer-provider with a research institute and a college of health sciences, it is a place where product work touches clinical, insurance, and digital-patient-experience surfaces at scale. In 2024 Geisinger became the founding member of Risant Health, a nonprofit created to expand value-based care nationally. It employs roughly 27,000 people.
