FloQast is an accounting operations platform that helps controllers and accounting teams manage the month-end close, reconciliations, and compliance in one audit-ready system. It layers AI agents on top of the tools accountants already use, like Excel, to automate reconciliations, write variance explanations, and turn preparers into reviewers rather than forcing a full process overhaul. Founded in 2013 by former auditor Mike Whitmire on a 'by accountants, for accountants' premise, it serves 3,500-plus companies including DoorDash, Chipotle, Zoom, and Shopify. The company raised a $100M Series E in 2024 at a $1.6B valuation. Around 80% of front-line staff are former accountants, and benefits include an equity plan and family-forming support.
