First Due builds an all-in-one records and operations management platform for fire departments and EMS agencies, pulling scheduling, personnel, incident reporting, pre-incident planning, assets, and community data into a single system instead of the patchwork of tools agencies typically stitch together. Its customers are local, state, and federal public-safety agencies across the US and Canada, serving more than 3,000 agencies and hundreds of thousands of first responders. Founded in 2016, it has grown into one of the larger players in the fire and EMS software space and recently raised a $355M growth investment led by JMI Equity to expand the platform. For a PM, it's govtech vertical SaaS where the end users are firefighters and medics and the workflows are genuinely life-and-death.
