Director, Product Management, Consumer
EthosThis Director of Product Management role oversees the consumer product surface for a life insurance technology platform. You will lead a team of PMs to scale a three-sided marketplace and simplify complex financial products.
What you’d own
- Multi-year vision and roadmap for Consumer Products
- Management, mentoring, and hiring for the PM team
- End-to-end consumer experience from acquisition to purchase
- Go-to-market strategies for new insurance products
Who it’s for
A fit if you…
- ✓You have 3+ years of experience managing and developing other product managers
- ✓You have a track record of building consumer products at significant scale
- ✓You are comfortable using SQL and Amplitude for self-serve analytics
- ✓You can translate high-level business goals into sequenced, actionable product bets
Not for you if…
- ✗You prefer a hands-off leadership style without 'rolling up sleeves' on execution
- ✗You prefer a stable, unchanging roadmap over a culture of rapid experimentation
- ✗You lack experience in regulated industries or complex consumer fintech/insurtech
Reading between the lines
- The mention of 'identifying new market opportunities' and 'developing go-to-market strategies' implies you will be responsible for business growth, not just feature delivery.
- The requirement to 'influence without authority' across functions suggests a matrixed organization where you must drive alignment through persuasion rather than direct reporting lines.
