Senior Product Manager, Scanning & Risk Data

Coalition

This Senior Product Manager role focuses on the security domain, specifically managing the infrastructure and data products that collect, process, and interpret cyber-risk information at scale.

What you’d own

  • Scanning and risk-data product strategy
  • Data quality, accuracy, and timeliness of scanning systems
  • APIs and data products for internal and external users
  • Roadmap for new signals and use cases

Who it’s for

A fit if you…

  • ✓5+ years experience in technical, data-intensive, or infrastructure products
  • ✓Experience managing products with multiple stakeholders and diverse requirements
  • ✓Comfortable with probabilistic data, APIs, and complex system trade-offs
  • ✓Strong ability to translate technical problems into clear product roadmaps

Not for you if…

  • ✗You prefer polished, consumer-facing UI over backend/data infrastructure
  • ✗You prefer high-certainty data over probabilistic or imperfect information
  • ✗You prefer a narrow scope rather than managing cross-functional internal needs

Reading between the lines

  • The mention of 'trade-offs between coverage, precision, speed, reliability, and cost' suggests a complex optimization problem where you won't always have a perfect solution.
  • Requirement to serve underwriters, analysts, and customers implies you will need to manage high internal stakeholder influence.

Full job description

About us Coalition is the world's first Active Insurance provider designed to help prevent digital risk before it strikes. Founded in 2017, Coalition combines comprehensive insurance coverage and innovative cybersecurity tools to help businesses manage and mitigate potential cyberattacks. Opportunities to make an impact with bold thinking are real—and happening daily at Coalition. About the role Understanding cyber risk at internet scale is a difficult product problem.

The data must be broad enough to identify meaningful exposures, accurate enough to support important decisions, and timely enough to be useful when it matters. It also needs to be presented in ways that different users can understand and act on. As Product Manager, Scanning Risk Data, you will bring a product perspective to this challenge. You will connect the technical systems that collect and process security data with the people and products that use it.

You will set priorities, clarify trade-offs, and help Coalition build a more accurate, scalable, and actionable view of cyber risk. What You'll Own The product strategy for Coalition's scanning and risk-data capabilities. How we discover and understand a company's digital assets, technologies, vulnerabilities, and security posture. The quality, accuracy, timeliness, and usability of the data produced by our scanning systems. The experiences, APIs, and data products that make risk information useful to underwriters, security teams, analysts, and customers.

The balance between coverage, precision, speed, reliability, and cost as the platform scales. The roadmap for improving our ability to add new signals, support new use cases, and deliver consistent value across Coalition's products. What You'll Do Develop a clear product vision for how Coalition collects, interprets, and delivers cyber-risk intelligence. Work with Engineering and Data to improve the coverage, accuracy, performance, and reliability of our scanning capabilities.

Partner with Underwriting, Actuarial, Security, and customer-facing teams to understand their needs and translate them into products and capabilities. Decide which problems to solve first and make thoughtful trade-offs between new functionality and improvements to quality, scale, and reliability. Define success metrics and use quantitative and qualitative feedback to guide product decisions. Create simple, reusable ways for teams and customers to access and understand risk data.

Lead product discovery, write requirements, shape solutions with design and engineering, and guide initiatives from concept through launch. Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership. Help the team apply AI and automation thoughtfully. What We're Looking For 5+ years of product management experience, including work on technical, data-intensive, platform, infrastructure, security, or developer-facing products.

Experience building products that serve multiple users or teams with different needs and priorities and a track record of partnering effectively with Engineering, Data, Design, and business stakeholders. Strong product judgment and the ability to turn complex technical problems into clear strategies and practical roadmaps. Comfort working with data quality, reliability, APIs, analytics, and systems that produce probabilistic or imperfect information.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clarity in ambiguous situations. An analytical mindset and a willingness to engage deeply with both customer problems and technical details. A bias toward action, continuous learning, and measurable outcomes. Bonus Points Experience with cybersecurity, attack-surface management, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, or security operations. Familiarity with large-scale data collection, distributed systems, data platforms, or developer tools.

Daily fluency with AI tools and a point of view on how AI can improve product development and security outcomes. If you are excited by the opportunity to make complex cyber-risk data more accurate, understandable, and useful, we would love to hear from you. Coalition sells what it calls Active Insurance, which pairs cyber insurance with security tooling that spots, prevents, and responds to threats. Policyholders get a risk management platform, threat monitoring, and a claims team, while brokers distribute the policies. The company serves small and mid-sized businesses and, more recently, enterprises, with offices in North America, Europe, and Australia. Its security team of threat analysts and incident responders works alongside underwriters and data scientists, which makes it an unusual mix of insurance and security product work. Coalition describes its culture as remote-first and transparent.
