Location Type: Remote Location: United States Employment Type: FullTime Department: Product Compensation: $148K – $218K • Offers Equity Our Mission and Opportunity Early education is one of the most important determinants of childhood outcomes, a critical support for working families, and a $175B market that remains underserved by modern technology. Brightwheel is the largest, fastest growing, and most loved platform in early ed, trusted by millions of educators and families every day. We are a three-time Cloud 100 company https://www.forbes.com/lists/cloud100/a, backed by top investors including Addition, Bessemer, Emerson Collective, Lowercase Capital, Notable Capital, and Mark Cuban. Our Team Our team is passionate, talented, and customer-focused. We embody our Leadership Principles https://mybrightwheel.com/about/ in our work and culture. We are a distributed team with remote employees across every US time zone, as well as select offices in the US and internationally. Who You Are You’re an AI-native, experienced product manager who thrives in high-ownership environments and knows what it means to truly own a core product area. You’re energized by the full spectrum of the job — from iterating on live features to investing in greenfield 0→1 bets — and you have the judgment to know when to pursue each. You’re comfortable in ambiguity, decisive under pressure, and relentless about customer impact. You are: - A product owner who has driven a core product area end-to-end — setting strategy and goals, building the roadmap, and delivering measurable outcomes - Sharp on prioritization — you can look at a universe of possible bets and quickly identify what’s worth pursuing, what to cut, and why - Skilled at right-sizing — you set appetite and scope work accordingly, balancing incremental improvements with bigger swings - Impact and customer-obsessed — you keep the customer and business at the forefront, and know how to cut through the noise to focus on what truly matters to drive value - AI-native in how you work — you use AI tools daily to move faster, think more clearly, and raise your own ceiling as a PM - A strong cross-functional partner — you build trust with engineering, design, and partners, and know how to move a team forward with clarity and momentum - A boundaryless builder — you prototype, automate, and ship using AI as your co-builder What You’ll Do This is an individual contributor role with significant scope and exposure. You will own a core product area and partner directly with our CEO and CTO to deliver product experiences that matter to the business and to our customers. You’ll: - Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for a portion of our core SaaS product — from iterating on existing features to defining and launching new ones - Balance 0→1 product bets with high-leverage incremental improvements, knowing when to invest big and when to right-size - Set appetite, scope accordingly, and hold your pod to a high bar on speed, quality, and customer impact - Drive AI into the product in ways that genuinely improve outcomes for providers and families — not as a checkbox - Define success metrics, track performance, and communicate progress and tradeoffs clearly to leadership - Partner tightly with engineering and design to ship with urgency, unblock the team, and keep the pod focused on what matters - Contribute to brightwheel’s product culture — raise the bar for product quality, velocity, and customer impact What You Bring We are open to a variety of backgrounds, but strong candidates usually bring: - 5+ years of product management experience with meaningful ownership of a core product area - Proven ownership of complex, cross-functional product initiatives with measurable outcomes - Strong product judgment and prioritization — you know what to work on, what to cut, and can drive alignment while balancing speed, quality, and learning - Deep comfort with product metrics, experimentation, and funnel analysis (SQL a plus) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with executive audiences - A strong sense of ownership and bias toward action — you define the problem, you don't wait for it to be handed to you - AI fluency in your daily workflow — you use AI tools to move faster, go deeper, and operate more like a full-stack product owner across discovery, design, and execution - Experience building and shipping AI-powered product features (bonus) - B2B SaaS background, especially in products with complex operational workflows (bonus) Brightwheel is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment and is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
