Remote Product Manager Jobs in Europe: Who Hires, Where, and What They Pay

Built from 1,576 open remote PM roles pulled from company ATSes, with eligibility read country by country

By Becky Schmidt · Last updated

Right now, 238 of the 1,576 open remote product manager roles I track (15%) accept candidates based in Europe. 194 of those are aimed at Europe specifically and 44 are open worldwide. Most name a single country, the UK leads by a wide margin, and only about one in seven posts a salary in euros or pounds. The live list is on the remote PM jobs in Europe page, refreshed every night. This post is the analysis behind it: who is hiring, how far eligibility really reaches, and what the posted pay looks like.

The most common message I get from European PMs is some version of "I applied to a remote role and found out in the recruiter screen it was US-only." The eligibility fields in the ATS say far more than the word "remote" does, so that is where I looked.

The short version

  • 238 of 1,576 open remote PM roles (15%) accept European candidates, across 156 companies. 44 of those are open worldwide.
  • Of the 194 Europe-specific roles, 48% are open in one country only, 27% name a short list of countries, and 25% are open across Europe or EMEA.
  • The UK appears on 38% of Europe-specific roles, then Spain (19%), Germany and France (12% each), Poland (12%) and Portugal (11%).
  • Only 28% of Europe-specific roles post any pay, against 77% of US-only roles. Just 29 post a yearly range in EUR or GBP.
  • Posted euro ranges center on a midpoint of about €101k (20 roles), pound ranges about £97.5k (12 roles). Both samples are thin.
  • Europe-specific roles that closed stayed open a median of 50 days, versus 44 for US-only roles.

What this data is

Every number here comes from remote PM listings pulled nightly from the hiring company's own applicant tracking system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and a few others). I only count roles tagged fully remote and confirmed as product management roles. The snapshot is the board as of September 22, 2026, plus the closed-role history going back to early April 2026 where I say so.

Location eligibility comes from three places, in this order. First, the structured region and country fields the enrichment step extracts from each posting (for example "EMEA" plus "DE, IE, NL"). Second, the free-text geographic restriction. Third, for the handful of rows where both are empty, the "Location:" line from the ATS feed itself (things like "Remote Europe" or "Germany; United Kingdom; Spain"). A role counts as open to Europe if it names a European country, is tagged Europe or EMEA without narrowing to a non-European country, or is open worldwide.

Two things I did that change the counts, so you can judge them:

  • I deduped per-country reposts. Some employers post one opening once per country. INFUSE has a single title listed 27 times, and Fundraise Up posts each of its roles 8 times. I treat listings from the same company with the same title and posting date as one role, after stripping location suffixes like "| Germany | Remote" or ", Madrid" from the title. That turns 307 Europe-eligible listings into 238 roles.
  • I kept EMEA honest. The board's region filter treats EMEA as one bucket, which includes Israel, the Gulf and Africa. For this post I dropped roles whose only named countries are outside Europe (Israel, the UAE, Armenia and similar). That is why this count is a little lower than the 266 listings on the /pm-jobs-in-europe page today, which carry either the EMEA or the UK tag.

Finding 1: about one remote PM role in seven is open to Europe

Of 1,576 open remote PM roles, 238 accept European candidates. That breaks down like this.

Eligibility Roles Share of all open roles
Europe-specific (named countries, Europe or EMEA) 194 12%
Worldwide 44 3%
Open to Europe, total 238 15%
US-only 916 58%

So the board is still mostly a US market. But 238 roles across 156 companies is a real number, and 54 of the 194 Europe-specific roles also accept US or Canadian candidates. Those are usually companies running one global PM team across time zones, which is worth knowing when you judge how the role will work day to day.

Finding 2: most "Europe" roles mean one country

This is the finding that matters most for applying. A remote role that accepts Europeans very often accepts exactly one country. That usually points to where the company can legally employ people, through its own entity or an employer-of-record, rather than where it would like to hire.

How far eligibility extends Roles Share of Europe-specific
One country only 94 48%
A named list of countries 52 27%
Europe-wide or EMEA-wide 48 25%

Nearly half of the Europe-specific roles are open in exactly one country. The UK alone accounts for 43 of those 94 single-country roles, so if you live in Britain your pool is noticeably bigger than anyone else's. After the UK, single-country roles are spread thin: Germany and France have 7 each, Poland 6, Ukraine 5, and no other country reaches 5.

The Europe-wide group is where the companies with no single-country constraint sit. That group includes RevenueCat, Supabase, Linear, Nebius, Kit, Checkly, n8n, Oyster, Remote, Voodoo and vCluster Labs, among others. If you are in a smaller market, these are the companies to watch.

Finding 3: which countries appear most

Counting every country a Europe-specific role names (a role naming three countries counts once for each), here is how often each one shows up.

Country Roles naming it Share of 194
United Kingdom 74 38%
Spain 37 19%
Germany 24 12%
France 24 12%
Poland 23 12%
Portugal 21 11%
Netherlands 14 7%
Ireland 13 7%
Romania 9 5%
Ukraine 9 5%

Roles tagged "Europe-wide" with no country list are not in this table, so every country in Europe has a few more options than the table shows. Spain's high position is partly one employer: Joko lists six open roles, all open in both France and Spain.

Finding 4: the companies hiring

These are the employers with the most Europe-specific open PM roles right now, counted after deduping reposts.

Company Europe-specific open roles
Joko 6
Flosum 6
Kraken 4
Nebius 4
Veeva 4
Voodoo 4
Docplanner 4
ClickHouse, RevenueCat, Xsolla, Pencil, Viseven, Cloudtalk, Cosuno 3 each

Among worldwide roles, Supabase has the most with 3. The long tail matters more than the top of this list: 156 different companies have at least one open PM role available to Europeans, and most have one or two. The companies directory lets you browse all of them.

Finding 5: what they pay, in euros and pounds

This is where the data gets thin, and I want to be upfront about it.

Only 29 of the 194 Europe-specific roles post a yearly salary range in EUR or GBP. I split the two currencies rather than converting, because a pound figure for a London role and a euro figure for a Lisbon role describe different markets. As in the mid-2026 salary report, I use the midpoint of each posted range.

Currency Open roles with a yearly range Companies Median midpoint Middle half
EUR 20 13 €101k €84k to €120k
GBP 12 11 £97.5k £76k to £99.5k

Both samples are below what I would normally report on. The euro sample has a second problem: Joko alone contributes 6 of the 20 ranges. Taking each company's median first and then the median across companies gives €110k, so the true center for euro-denominated remote PM roles is probably somewhere in the €100k to €110k band.

To get a steadier read, I widened the window to every Europe-specific role tracked since early April, open or closed. That gives 46 euro ranges from 23 companies and 29 pound ranges from 21 companies.

Level EUR median (since April) GBP median (since April)
Mid-level €82k (n=18) £82.5k (n=5, thin)
Senior €100k (n=16) £97.5k (n=19)
All levels €96k (n=46) £97.5k (n=29)

The senior line is the one to anchor on: about €100k or £97.5k at the midpoint of a posted remote range. For comparison, the senior US median in the salary report was $175k. European remote roles are priced to the local market, and posted ranges make that plain.

One employer shows the pattern well. Grafana Labs posts the same staff PM opening separately per country with different bands: roughly €125k to €149k in Germany, €134k to €160k in Ireland, €107k to €128k in Spain, and £118k to £142k in the UK. Same job, same team, four prices. Expect most companies that hire across Europe to work this way even when they do not publish it.

There is a third group: 17 open Europe-eligible roles post a range in US dollars instead, with a median midpoint of $173k. Most of these are open to both US and European candidates under one global band (RevenueCat, Kit, vCluster Labs, Sourcegraph). The posting does not say whether a European hire is paid on that band, so treat these numbers as a question to ask the recruiter rather than a promise.

Finding 6: pay transparency is far lower than in the US

Setting currency aside, only 54 of the 194 Europe-specific roles (28%) post any pay figure at all. For US-only roles it is 702 of 916 (77%). Much of that gap likely reflects US state laws that require a range in the posting itself.

That may be starting to change. The EU Pay Transparency Directive set a transposition deadline of June 2026, and among other things it is meant to give job applicants information about starting pay before or during the hiring process. Each member state writes its own implementing law, so how and when this reaches a given job post depends on the country and the employer. In my data, the share of Europe-specific roles posting any pay rose from 24% for roles first seen before June 7 to 31% for roles first seen after. That is a modest change, and I would not read cause and effect into it yet. I will revisit it once there are a few more months of postings.

Finding 7: the seniority mix is lower, and roles stay open longer

Europe-specific roles lean more toward mid-level than the US market does.

Level Europe-specific US-only
Mid-level 31% 19%
Senior 47% 45%
Staff and principal 8% 19%
Director 6% 11%
Head of Product and VP 7% 4%

Senior is the biggest bucket in both markets. The real difference is at the IC top end: staff and principal titles are much rarer in Europe, where a strong senior PM more often jumps to "Lead" or "Head of Product" than to staff. If you are a mid-level PM in Europe, you have proportionally more options than your US peers. If you are a staff-level IC, expect fewer roles with that exact title, and read "Lead" and "Group PM" roles closely.

On speed, I looked at roles that have already closed since tracking began in April: 374 Europe-specific and 1,516 US-only. Europe-specific roles stayed open a median of 50 days (middle half: 28 to 81 days), against 44 days for US-only roles (21 to 73). Only 13% of Europe-specific roles closed within two weeks, against 18% of US-only roles. Applying in week three is still reasonable here, though week one is better.

What to do with this if you are job hunting from Europe

Check eligibility before you write a cover letter. With half of Europe-specific roles open in one country, the first thing to read is the location line in the ATS posting, not the "remote" tag. Every role on /pm-jobs-in-europe shows its eligible regions and countries on the card, taken from that same field.

If you are outside the UK, Spain, Germany, France, Poland and Portugal, focus on the Europe-wide and worldwide roles. That is 92 open roles today, and those companies have already solved the employment question across borders, usually through an employer-of-record. The international PM jobs page collects roles open in more than one region, which catches many of them.

Bring your own number. With roughly 72% of Europe-specific roles posting no pay, you will often be the first to name a figure. Use the local-currency medians above: about €100k or £97.5k for a senior remote role at the midpoint, with the middle half of euro ranges running from roughly €71k to €120k. If a role is open to both US and European candidates and posts only a USD band, ask directly whether European hires are paid on it. The answer tells you a lot about the company.

Look at the mid-level and Lead roles. Europe has proportionally more mid-level openings than the US, and fewer staff titles. If you are senior and targeting staff, a "Lead PM" or "Group PM" posting in Europe may be the same level under another name.

Set an alert and give it time. Roles here stay open a little longer, but new ones arrive in small numbers from many different companies. A job alert catches the one relevant new posting in a week that would be easy to miss by browsing.

Keep going

Every figure here comes from postings companies published in their own ATS. As more European employers publish pay, I will update the salary tables.
