OVERVIEW As a Product Manager at Coastal, you’ll play a critical role in defining and delivering products that drive meaningful business outcomes. You’ll be expected to think like an owner, making trade-offs, driving growth, and influencing results across both customer-facing products and internal platforms. You’ll help shape the product and services strategy and lead the execution that brings it to life. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, design, operations, and compliance to deliver solutions that power both our digital banking capabilities and our fintech partner experiences. You’ll help define and ship product enhancements, improve internal processes, and ensure we’re building with a sharp focus on customer value, scalability, and compliance. This is a high-impact role where you’ll learn how to operate at the intersection of strategy, execution, and financial performance. RESPONSIBILITIES - Own the product lifecycle for specific initiatives, from ideation to launch and iteration, defining the "what" and "why" behind product decisions with a sharp focus on customer value and business outcomes. - Relentlessly advocate for customer needs, using research, feedback, and empathy to guide product development and prioritize what matters most. - Collaborate with engineering, design, compliance, and operations to deliver high-quality products with a strong bias toward execution and measurable impact. - Use data to inform every stage of development, identifying opportunities, shaping priorities, measuring success, and optimizing performance. - Apply a hypothesis-driven approach to product development, leveraging A/B testing and experimentation to validate ideas and learn quickly. - Continuously identify opportunities to improve product performance, user experience, and internal workflows, driving toward constant iteration and improvement. - Stay curious and informed about emerging technologies, especially AI and automation, and proactively propose how they can be applied to improve products and internal capabilities. - Contribute to product strategy and roadmaps by synthesizing insights from customers, market trends, internal teams, and performance metrics. - Actively engage with customers, partners, and cross-functional teams to validate ideas, resolve issues, and build transparency and trust. - Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, demonstrating initiative, managing ambiguity, and pushing ideas forward without waiting for permission. QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of professional work experience, including experience in the financial services industry and/or management consulting with focus on financial services. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset and a bias toward action. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to influence across functions, synthesize complexity, and drive alignment with cross-functional teams. - Demonstrated ability to translate product strategy into clear, actionable execution plans, including product requirements, prioritization frameworks, and go-to-market coordination. - Exposure to hypothesis-driven product development, A/B testing, and agile product methodologies. - Commercially minded, with an understanding of financial and business levers that impact product decisions. - Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments where ambiguity, competing priorities, and learning by doing are the norm. - Curiosity and drive to explore emerging technologies, especially AI, data platforms, and fintech infrastructure. - Familiarity with Banking-as-a-Service, embedded finance, or blockchain is a plus, but not required. - Prior experience or internship in product management, strategy, consulting, or operations is preferred. - A genuine interest in financial services and technology, and a strong desire to build products that deliver meaningful outcomes for customers. EDUCATION - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required. - MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred but not required, demonstrated product leadership and business impact matter more. About Coastal Community Bank

See all roles →

Coastal Community Bank is a Northwest Washington community bank that offers personal and business banking — checking, savings, loans, treasury management, credit card processing — and also runs CCBX, a Banking-as-a-Service arm that powers banking products for fintech partners. The bank is the operating subsidiary of Coastal Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: CCB), a publicly traded community bank holding company. The team offers both remote and onsite roles across the US and leans on a self-described 'un-bankey,' tight-knit team culture. For a PM, the most interesting surface area sits inside the CCBX/BaaS partnerships rather than the traditional retail bank.
