We're looking for a Director of PM to own the product strategy and execution for our Core Access and Security portfolio — the beating heart of ButterflyMX. You'll lead a team of 3 PMs and set the vision for how residents, property managers, visitors, and installers experience access across intercoms, readers, locks, cameras, and beyond. What you'll own - Define and drive the 12-18 month roadmap for Core Access and Security, setting clear priorities, making hard tradeoffs, and keeping the team aligned on what matters most - Lead, coach, and grow a team of 3 PMs, building product craft, creating clarity, and developing the next generation of ButterflyMX product leaders - Partner tightly with the hardware team to align software and hardware roadmaps; great access experiences live at that intersection - Embed AI into how we build, from intelligent access events to smarter permissioning to predictive security insights - Set the bar for discovery: deep customer empathy, sharp problem framing, and ruthless prioritization across residents, operators, and the installers in the field - Translate business goals into clear product bets with measurable outcomes What we're looking for - 10+ years in product management; 4+ years managing PMs; you know how to build a team, not just a roadmap - Experience owning a platform or core product; you've dealt with the complexity of decisions that affect everything downstream - Comfort in the hardware-software space; you understand what it means when firmware is involved and how hardware constraints shape what's possible on the software side - AI-forward thinking; you've shipped products with AI/ML components or have a clear point of view on where it belongs and where it doesn't - Strong communication; you can influence across engineering, design, go-to-market, and leadership because you write well, present clearly, and earn trust without authority Bonus points if you have at least one of these: - Experience in proptech, physical security, or access control - Experience building products for field technicians, installers, or other non-desk-based users - Background working with embedded systems, IoT, or connected hardware Benefits - Comprehensive Medical (ButterflyMX covers 90% of the cost), Dental, and Vision plans (ButterflyMX covers 100% of the cost) starting day 1 - 401(k) plan with a match - 13 paid holidays, 25 PTO days - Paid Family Leave - Employee Assistance Program - Quarterly self-care stipends - Access to optional benefits including pre-tax flexible healthcare spending accounts (FSA and HSA), Dependent Care FSA, and Commuter Benefits, as well as optional Supplemental Life, AD&D, Hospital Indemnity, Disability, Legal, Accident, Critical Illness, Pet, and Personal Liability Insurance - And more!
