Full job description
Location Type: Remote Location: San Francisco, NYC, Boston, or Remote Employment Type: FullTime Department: Product THE OPPORTUNITY As a Product Manager on Pearl Health's Data Platform team, you will help build and maintain the infrastructure that every engineering team at Pearl depends on. The platform processes healthcare claims, clinical signals, and vendor data at scale. When the platform works well, teams across Analytics, Operations, and Engineering move faster and with more confidence. You will own day-to-day product operations for Team 3: writing specs, managing the backlog, running sprint ceremonies, and coordinating with cross-functional partners. Your work will directly support initiatives in developer enablement, data quality, security controls, and ingestion tracking. This is a high-impact role for someone early in their product career who wants to learn fast, work on real infrastructure problems, and grow into a stronger PM. You will report directly to an experienced product leader, work closely with senior engineers, and see the results of your work in production. WHO WE ARE… Pearl Health powers the future of healthcare. We help primary care providers and organizations deliver quality care to patients who need it most, when they need it most, and get rewarded for keeping patients healthy. Our technology, services, and financial tools enable better, more proactive care. We decrease total cost of care across patient panels and optimize performance in value-based care models for Traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage. We are a team of physicians, public health experts, technologists, healthcare innovators, and experienced risk management professionals who believe primary care providers hold the key to our healthcare system's biggest challenges. Since its founding in 2020, Pearl has expanded to partner with thousands of primary care providers across 44 states. Our investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Viking Global Investors, AlleyCorp, and SV Angel. WHAT YOU WILL DO We are hiring a Product Manager to support our Data Platform team (Team 3). This team builds and maintains the core infrastructure that every other engineering team at Pearl depends on to move data reliably. You will work alongside a senior PM and engineering leads to manage day-to-day product responsibilities for the platform. That means helping define requirements, writing specs, running sprint ceremonies, tracking delivery, and keeping cross-functional partners informed. The platform handles data ingestion, compute orchestration, data contracts, storage standards, and workflow management. Your work will directly affect how quickly and safely Pearl processes healthcare data across all programs. Near-term priorities include building a Data Operations UI, improving local integration testing for engineers, standing up an ingestion registry, and supporting security and compliance controls for PHI. WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE DAY TO DAY - Own portions of the Team 3 backlog. Keep tickets clear, prioritized, and up to date. - Write product specs and requirements documents for platform improvements. - Run sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives with engineering. - Track delivery against the roadmap. Flag risks and blockers early. - Coordinate with Data Ingest (Team 5), Analytics, and Operations teams on shared dependencies. - Document platform workflows, data contracts, and decision rationale. - Investigate and triage data issues. Help determine root cause and next steps. - Prepare status updates and summaries for leadership and cross-functional partners. WHO YOU ARE - 3+ years of product management, technical program management, or related experience. - You have worked on technical products. Comfort with data systems, APIs, or infrastructure is a strong advantage. - You write clearly and communicate well across technical and non-technical audiences. - You stay organized under pressure and know how to keep multiple workstreams moving. - You ask good questions. You seek context before jumping to solutions. - You want to learn how healthcare data works and why it matters. - Experience at an early-stage or growth-stage startup is a plus. - Exposure to healthcare, value-based care, or CMS data is a plus but not required. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. OUR VALUES 🤝 Collaborate to Innovate: We believe the best solutions arise from intelligent teamwork. We trust the expertise of our teammates and pursue opportunities to learn and grow from each other. By embracing diverse perspectives and encouraging authenticity, we create and evangelize groundbreaking health solutions. 🗣️ Trust Through Transparency: We prioritize transparency in all our interactions, ensuring that employees, patients, clinicians, and partners have access to the information they need to make informed decisions. Integrity is at the core of how we operate. ❤️ Serious Impact, Big Heart: We go above and beyond to empower proactive, patient-centered care — and we celebrate every step forward. Humor and positivity fuel our creativity and strengthen relationships. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer on a mission to improve lives. Our strength comes from the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of our team. We welcome all candidates and are committed to a fair, inclusive hiring process free from discrimination. WHAT WE OFFER The expected offer for this role includes the following components: - Base Salary Range: $135,000-165,000 per year - Additional Compensation: Eligible for a discretionary performance bonus and equity options - Benefits: We offer a competitive benefits package. More on our careers page https://www.pearlhealth.com/careers. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors, including relevant skills, experience, labor market conditions, and location. If a resume is submitted to any Pearl Health employee by a third party without a valid written and signed search agreement, it will become the property of Pearl Health and no fee will be paid, irrespective of whether the candidate is hired.
